Use your Childrens creativity to escape Cabin
Fever
Winter is on its way, and the dreaded cabin fever
is bound to creep upon you. It's ironic when this happens, most
people are just so hectic that overstimulation is the norm. But
there are definately times when every one is just plain BORED. You
know you've been inside too long and your children are growing restless.
The routine sounds like this. "What do you want to do?"
"I dont know, what do you want to do?" I made up a game
and tried this with my own child, and he was smiling in no time...

When cabin fever hit my son and his friend, I asked
them what do you guys think would be fun? As they began to think
about it, I interrupted their little brainwaves and said, "No,
say the first thing that comes to your mind" We went through
every unreasonable idea they could think of, from letting a tiger
loose in the city, to filling the entire living room with balloons
and popping them with a dart. Of course knowing none of these things
were gonna happen, it got their little creative minds working and
in no time, they were on their own, finding creative things they
COULD actually do.
The whole game took about 5 minutes and it was entirely
fun watching their faces light up, lifting them from the dragged
down state that we were ALL in. It's fun to just listen to the crazy
things children can come up with off the top of their heads. The
goal is to let them flow creatively, with a little direction -not
to interrupt their ideas, but to keep them moving along expressing
themselves until they have a good idea, or at very least are in
a happy mood.
