When is the Best Time to Exercise?
Many people have limited time, so choosing the time
to exercise isnt even an option. If you have more time than most,
and are able to pick when you would like to work out, consider yourself
lucky. The most popular time to work out is first thing in the morning.
Youre likely to have the most energy, and you start your day with
some good 'me time'. Exercising before work also makes you more
alert...

Another popular time to exercise is during the hour
just before the evening meal. The late afternoon workout provides
a welcome change of pace at the end of the work day and helps dissolve
the day’s worries and tensions. It also gets your metabolism
going so that your body burns dinner a little easier.
I personally like to take a nice comfortable walk
after dinner to burn off some of the calories I just ate, and to
help avoid desert cravings.
Among the factors you should consider in developing
your workout schedule are personal preference, job and family responsibilities,
availability of exercise facilities and weather. It’s important
to schedule your workouts for a time when there is little chance
that you will have to cancel or interrupt them because of other
demands on your time.
You should not exercise strenuously during extremely
hot, humid weather or within two hours after eating. Heat and/or
digestion both make heavy demands on the circulatory system, and
in combination with exercise can be an overtaxing double load. |
